As part of the onboarding process, the following mandatory training* must be completed:

• Textbook self-study, including submission of completed quizzes and online assignments for the first three months.
• One evening per week, plus some weekend training for the next three months.
• Ongoing training, one day per month, from 6 to 10 p.m.

*More details about this training will be provided to successful candidates by Emergency and Fire Services during recruitment.

Candidates who progress beyond the initial interview process will be required to successfully complete, at their own expense, the Firefighter Medical Examination and Occupation-Specific Fitness Assessment.
