Municipal Event Designation

As part of the Special Occasion Permit through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario, for a public event, the event may require a municipal resolution to be deemed 'Municipally Significant' by Clarington's Municipal Clerk Division. 

As part of the BringYourOwn Event permit through the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.  The applicant must obtain a letter, or resolution, from the Municipality confirming the event has been designated a Community or Cultural event. 

Once you submit your request for designation, a staff member from the Municipal Clerk's Division will contact you within two business days. Approved events will receive an email with a link to pay the $50+HST fee. Once payment is made, you will receive a letter to include with your liquor licence application. If your event is denied a designation, you will receive an email outlining the reasons why the application was denied.
